The Derby Hindu Temple is a sacred place of worship, dedicated to fostering a spiritual atmosphere for all devotees and visitors. We kindly request that you observe the guidelines outlined below to maintain the sanctity, safety, and comfort of the temple premises.

  • Please respect the sacred nature of the temple.
  • Your safety and comfort are our primary concern.
  • There is no strict dress code, but attire appropriate for a place of worship is encouraged.
  • No pets are allowed within the temple premises.
  • Be mindful of the ongoing temple construction, which may create hazardous areas.
  • Ensure that children remain in main circulation areas and are always supervised for their safety.
  • Monday : 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Wednesday : Closed
  • Tuesday to Sunday : 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Daily Aarti : Morning – 10:15 AM & Evening – 5:30 PM
  • Park your car in the designated car park without blocking access ways to other vehicles.
  • 4 nos. of designated disabled parking spaces are available within the temple premises.
  • Additional parking for general visitors is also available within the premises.
  • During busy hours, please give priority to elderly and disabled individuals when parking.
  • During busy events, the temple will open the back gate to allow attendees to park in off-street parking. You can enter the temple through the back gate.
  • For information or assistance, please enquire at the temple.
  • Do not leave your shoes in the entrance lobby. Use the shoe racks provided in the inner lobby adjacent to the toilets.
  • Remove your shoes or footwear before proceeding to the Pooja Hall on the first floor.
  • Supervise your children at all times.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the premises by using the designated bins for your litter.
  • Leave the toilets in a clean condition, as you would wish to find them.
  • Do not enter unauthorised areas such as priests’ quarters, kitchens, offices, or storerooms, which are clearly signposted.
  • Switch off or put your mobile phone on silent mode before entering the Pooja Hall to avoid disruption.
  • Stand or be seated, leaving the central aisle free for other devotees to approach the shrine or observe the Pooja.
  • Maintain silence, especially during ongoing rituals. If you have young children, please keep them quiet as a courtesy to other worshippers.
  • Do not use your mobile phone within the Pooja Hall.
  • Listen attentively to announcements for your benefit and to ensure the smooth running of temple activities.
  • After the Pooja, form an orderly queue to receive blessings from the priests.
  • Give priority to the elderly and children, allowing them to move ahead in the queue when necessary.
  • Do not touch any statues or exhibits, as these are sacred items.
  • Eating or drinking inside the Pooja Hall is strictly prohibited.
  • Feel free to ask for information from priests, volunteers, or temple staff.
  • Prasad and Annadhanam are served in the ground floor main hall or small hall.
  • Form an orderly queue to receive Prasad from the volunteers.
  • After receiving Prasad, move away from the serving area to allow other devotees to be served.
  • Give priority to young children and elderly persons.
  • Ensure that you do not spill food or water on the floor or seats to maintain hygiene.
  • Rinse your used plates and place them in the designated areas.
  • Bring your own water bottles, as single-use plastics are not permitted. Water dispensers are available within the temple.
  • No alcohol, drugs, or non-vegetarian food is allowed within the temple premises.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited.
  • Pets are not allowed within the temple premises.
  • The temple premises are under 24-hour CCTV surveillance for the safety and security of all visitors.
  • Any illegal activities, theft, or disruptive behavior will be reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
  • School visits to Derby Hindu Temple should be arranged through Derby Open Centre.
  • All visitors must show respect for the temple’s customs and practices during their visit.
  • Teachers and accompanying adults are responsible for the behavior and supervision of their pupils at all times.
  • Photography may be allowed in designated areas only — please ask a volunteer or staff member for guidance.
  • Footwear must be removed before entering the main prayer areas.
  • Please maintain silence during any ongoing religious activities.
  • Students are encouraged to ask respectful questions to enhance their learning experience.
  • Food and drink are not permitted inside the prayer areas.
  • Groups should arrive on time and inform the temple in advance of any delays or changes to their schedule.
